Writing words to be spoken in front of an audience is a completely different universe from writing for print.
Not that a speechwriter doesn’t need to understand the basic principles of writing the English language in an understandable and engaging way, because he does. And not that a writer for print doesn’t need to master the art of “writing like you speak” because that skill will serve her well in many print disciplines.
But writing in another person’s voice, to make that person look and sound exceptionally poised, articulate, and yet at the same time, approachable and human… well, that’s another thing all together.
The best speechwriters can combine a solid understanding of the mechanics of writing a speech (the import of the audience, the tone of the event, the voice of the speaker, the tools at the speaker’s disposal, etc…) with the real-world experience of standing up in front of a crowd and applying those same skills from the other side of the coin: actually giving speeches.
With that powerful combination at their disposal, a talented speechwriter will be able to do a stellar job translating their client’s thoughts and intentions into an engaging, informative and persuasive speech for any occasion.
I have that combination, and I’d like to bring my years of hard-won expertise to bear on your speech.
“After I spent numerous hours writing, Justin was able to arrange my thoughts into an elegant speech in a matter of minutes. Justin understood what I was trying to communicate and tied it all together in a well written whole from introduction to conclusion.” — Karl G., Latham, NY
