As a ghostwriter, I often discuss the pros and cons of self-publishing with my clients and more often than not I direct them to some of these same resources for information as well.
The real key to remember is that open and honest communication are vital to the success of any ghostwriting project. It’s in the writer’s and the client’s best interests to talk about the project in-depth beforehand to cut down on unnecessary revisions down the road and to ensure a better finished product.
If you can’t trust this person enough to accept that they know what they’re doing, then you probably shouldn’t be hiring them in the first place.
Do you want to know how to kill your ghostwriter? This is controversial information, so I don’t want to spread it around unnecessarily. I am a ghostwriter, after all, and some of my colleagues might get pissed that I’m sharing it at all.
This is a very quick and simple reminder for any and all who will be experts. For all who can see themselves rising above their peers and standing out as different, as unique, as special.
It’s important, as you work hard to build your expert reputation, to keep building on your own knowledge base. An expert needs to be on top of her game, able to speak and write intelligently on what’s going on up-to-the-minute in her industry.
If you’re working on building your expert reputation, it’s important to realize that what you are actually doing is marketing.
In my opinion, absolutely every individual seeking to earn money and/or build a reputation as an expert in a given field NEEDS to have a blog.
